Off-Season Anyone?

Hello my little blog reader!

It's officially off-season around here, and what better way to spend your long days of not working with a day of shopping at Scarpe! Whether you decide to visit our permanent location in Telluride, or you decide to venture down to Durango, CO to shop our temporary sale store, Jenny and I would love to see you!

So, off-season here means the same as it always does... many local businesses close, restaurants are on a hiatus, tourism stops, the gondola takes a break and our locals head out for VACATION!!!

Last week I went on a rafting adventure on the Salt River in Arizona and had a great time... lots of sunshine, whitewater and food galore!! So, I want to know- Where are you heading for your off-season vacation? If any of you are heading out of town, we want to know about it! Send us your vacation pictures and stories and we'll post them on the blog for everyone to see! This way we can inspire others to go to the beautiful locations that you've all come to love.

This is the first time I've asked any of you for anything, so we'll see how it works (and who actually reads this thing)!

Hope all is well!

All my best, Meghan

News from VOGUE!

Girl, have we got some new news for you! One of our star designers John Patrick of Organic is set to become a television star as well! Check out the article below from Vogue.com and read about what this fashion icon is up to and when and where you'll be able to see him at work! Woohoo! You go John Patrick!

Eco Icon John Patrick of Organic Gets the Green Light on his Own TV Show

This just in from the eco-fashion front: Organic designer (and sustainable-style pioneer) John Patrickhas just been given his own show on Discovery’s Planet Green channel! Cameras will follow him and his team as they create his line, giving viewers an inside look at what it takes to make a green and ethical collection—from his studio in Albany to production in Manhattan to his Fashion Week presentation. Over the seasons, the fashion industry has watched the designer make beautiful, sustainable pieces that can stand on their own next to regular clothing, elevating the whole genre in the industry’s eyes. We’ve been inspired and enthralled by his worldwide quests for the perfect sustainable materials, like traveling to Peru to meet organic-cotton farmers, and his encyclopedic knowledge of the green movement. Now his fans, both old and new, can get a good look at his world. “I see this project as becoming part of the organic heritage of the twenty-first century,” says John Patrick. “It’s an amazing way to document and assist the entire movement forward for the next generation. We’ve made tremendous strides, and this project represents an investment in carrying the message about intelligent and conscious design.” Stay tuned—the series, fittingly called The John Patrick Show, will air sometime early next year.
